TAXI DRIVER MEDICAL
In order to drive taxis you require a Group 2 Taxi Driver Medical. This medical is obligatory whether you are applying for a first badge or renewing based on your age.
What is involved in your medical?
Your medical will consist of the following:
– The eyesight test
– Blood pressure checks
– A questionnaire regarding your medical history
– The doctor will also review your medical records depending on council requirements.
What do you need to bring for this medical assessment?
• Photo ID (e.g. photo driving license or passport)
• Medical Form (specific to your medical)
• Your driving glasses/contact lenses & prescription
• Details of your medical history and any medication you take
• 3 recent blood pressure readings with dates if you are treated for blood pressure with tablets
• Your latest Hb1C with dates if you are diabetic
• Medical records where required
Please note that it is your responsibility to check that it is acceptable for a doctor other than your own GP to complete the form with the licensing authority.
